d. Audit Inputs: When you submit a domain to be audited, or use our free lookup tools, we record the domain you submitted, the timestamp, and the resulting scan output. We use this to operate the Service, improve our crawl coverage and scoring models, and monitor abuse. We do not crawl or store the contents of pages behind authentication.

We never sell the personal contact information you provide when you register for our service. We ensure that any third-party partners we work with are fully compliant with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR, and are contractually obligated to uphold privacy standards.
3. Sharing Your Information
a. Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as web hosting, data analysis, information technology and related infrastructure, customer service, email delivery, and auditing services.
b. Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency). Broken Links may also use your data for legal purposes in order to defend or enforce any legal right Broken Links may have arising from improper use of our site or services.
c. Business Transfers: Your personal information may be transferred if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer, and a request for deletion has been made by you, all corporate entities will receive such request, and will act appropriately. In the event of discontinuing services due to the deletion of this data, you will lose access to all services provided by all corporate entities under Broken Links’s (or its successor’s) control.
4. Your Data Protection Rights Under GDPR
Broken Links’s Services are not intended for use by any minor, and the User must be of legal age and under no disability to consent to a contract in their jurisdiction or in the applicable jurisdiction under which these Policies will be enforced. The jurisdiction’s laws which would afford Broken Links the most protection will be the controlling law for any legal action arising from this clause. Any information retained from a minor, upon notification of such access, will be immediately destroyed by Broken Links, and Services and access to all sites provided will be immediately discontinued.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have certain rights regarding your data, including:
- Withdrawal of the User’s consent at any time. Users have the right to withdraw their consent to data processing after they have previously given their consent to the processing of their personal data under other provisions of this Privacy Policy.
- Object to the processing of the User’s data. Users have the right to object to the processing of their personal data if the processing is carried out on a basis in contravention of this Privacy Policy.
- Access of Data. Users have the right to learn if data is being processed by Broken Links, obtain disclosure regarding certain aspects of the processing, and obtain a copy of the data undergoing processing in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, except where doing so may expose Broken Links to criminal or civil liability.
- Verify and seek rectification. Users have the right to access their data to verify the accuracy of the data and ask for it to be updated where necessary.
- Restrict the processing of the User’s data. Users have the right, under certain circumstances as laid out in the other provisions of this Privacy Policy, to restrict the processing of their data. In this case, Broken Links may still store data but will not process it for any other purpose.
- Request deletion of personal data. Users have the right, under the provisions of this Privacy Policy, to obtain the erasure of their personal data from Broken Links’s network and systems.
- Lodge a complaint. Users have the right to lodge a complaint with Broken Links regarding the practices and provisions in this Privacy Policy or how the User’s data is processed. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. Broken Links may periodically erase personal data stored in the account of a User where retention is no longer necessary, except where retention is required to comply with governmental regulations or applicable laws.
The User also understands that if they opt out of optional features described in this Privacy Policy, their experience may be limited.
5. Data Security and Data Processing Location
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing and accidental loss, destruction, or damage. However, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Broken Links is not responsible for breaches caused by the negligence or actions of a User, including, but not limited to, insecure passwords, re-using passwords on other sites, or breaches resulting from or pertaining to the use of Broken Links services. The User is solely responsible for any security breaches of their systems and Broken Links retains no moral, legal, or other obligation to monitor the Services provided for security or any other form of breach.
Broken Links will process data at our location, and, at our discretion, may process data at remote locations around the world for its representatives, agents, or vendors, and at locations of our internal and public systems. In some cases, the User’s data may be transferred to a country other than the User’s country, depending on the User’s location.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time, at our sole discretion. Notice of such changes will be made by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy.
7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
